CHAIRS
Sajid Farook

Hey everyone! I’m Sajid Farook and I’m so excited to be serving as chair for the Historical Crisis Committee at BPSMUN 2019. As a Junior from the International School of Bangkok, I’m beginning to dive into the ominous depths of the IB, and the knowledge, skills, and diplomacy that that I have been taught through five years of MUN is certainly already paying its dividends. My passions lie deepest in MUN and parliamentary debate, and I am excited to have the opportunity to elevate my fervor for public speaking by guiding delegates through fruitful debate as a chair. Feel free to talk to me about politics, football, tennis, philosophy. I look forward to meeting you all there :)

In Year 9, I joined my school’s MUN club with no idea of what it was about. Now, MUN is where I enjoy being experimental with eclectic perspectives; it is where I have forged invaluable friendships (and arguably, comradeships).
Nothing excites me more than being involved in crisis committees. HCC, in particular, is my favorite for how the characters’ pragmatic directives often lead to unpredictable changes in historical timelines. That said, I can’t be happier to be chairing HCC!
Everything else aside, I am a Year 13 student currently enduring my A-levels in math, further math, physics and history. Besides my passion to pursue astrophysics, I often find myself reading comics, making music, programming and -- of course -- catching up on sleep.

Hi, my name is Armand Dogra, I'm half French and half Indian. I'm a senior and I've been doing MUN for the last 3 years. I've attended various MUN conferences including SEASAC and THAI MUN. I'll be Chairing HCC. Thanks to MUN I have been able to argue more convincingly and concisely, if I don't agree with a view I will speak up and start a debate to express my opinions towards a subject. Also, thanks to MUN I have had to opportunity to meet people from other schools that became close friends and see friends I hadn't seen in years. Sadly, this may be one of my last conferences, so I hope that it is a good one.

I have attended multiple MUN conferences since my sophomore year and I have grown as a person ever since. My MUN journey started of last year at the Bangkok MUN conference at Patana last year. If there’s anything I’ve learned through my experiences at conferences, it’s that no matter what you do, whether it is giving points of information, speeches or even points of clarification, you should challenge yourself as MUN is a model or a mock simulation of real life issues and debating them is necessary as speakers for the future world. In MUN, there are always certain skills which can be used in the outside world. People often don’t understand the extent to which public-speaking is a powerful tool that helps bring like-minded people together to solve issues that affect us all. Critical analysis skills are developed and needed in our future as we are often put into situations with different problems where we must be efficient and holistic in solving problems and completing tasks.
